About John Cursio

An alumnus of The University of Western Ontario and George Brown College, John Cursio obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the former institution and his Diploma in Residential Construction Management from the latter organization. Following the acquisition of his degrees, John Cursio entered the workforce as a Site Supervisor for Heron Homes, honing his skills in managing and directing residential home construction. Keeping in close contact with municipal building officials, John Cursio addressed any issues that arose regarding the building of units in development.

After more than three years with Heron Homes, John Cursio accepted an appointment as Project Supervisor with the Ontario Ministry of Government Services. Responsible for long-term planning, determining project priorities, and adjusting elements according to client needs and goals, he collaborated with senior managers in conducting regional repair programs and resolved problems between contractors and the Ministry.

Continuing his career with the Management Board Secretariat, John Cursio joined as a Program Manager and assumed direction of regional repair programs,  alterations, barrier-free leasehold improvement projects, and minor capital projects. He developed training programs; supervised employees; and coordinated with senior managers, property managers, and clients.

After working with the Management Board Secretariat, John Cursio transitioned to Ontario Realty Corporation, where he acted as Senior Project Manager, Manager of Project and Construction Services, and Vice President of the Project Development division over the course of his eight years with the company. In these various roles, he leveraged extensive expertise in construction management to expand business operations and facilitate more efficient processes.

John Cursio currently presides as Manager of Operations for Terco Construction Ltd. Overseeing the day-to-day functions of mid-sized capital projects and renovations, he defines project timelines and performs cost-benefit analyses. Additionally, John Cursio prepares documentation and aids in the preparation of estimates through reviewing scopes of work.
